About Us

Artists Collaborative Theatre is located in the beautiful Appalachian mountains of Eastern Kentucky in Elkhorn City, the gateway city of Breaks Interstate Park. We are a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization. We celebrated our 10th Anniversary of service to our area in July of 2012! ACT is also the most awarded community theatre in Kentucky, having won multiple state, regional, and national awards.

Our story started in July 2002 with an amazing production of The Kentucky Cycle. During that time, ACT built its foundation with a focus on quality performances with local talent. In 2008, ACT opened the doors on a brand new $400,000 black box theatre built using awarded Coal Severance Tax funds. The new facility, still running full steam today, features a year round, balanced season of six productions per year with sixteen performances per production. We also proudly offer a free youth arts education program that serves over fifty children per semester, along with educational outreach county-wide.

Please wander through our website and then wander on in to Elkhorn City, KY for an ACT show, class, or to volunteer.  We would love to have you “get in on the ACT!” #onlyatACT
